If you are an importer, manufacturer, distributor or person responsible for products aimed at the final consumer in Mexico, it is essential that you comply with the Mexican Official Standards (NOM).

Modality of

Certificate of Compliance

The Certificate of Conformity is issued for national and foreign products before their commercialization or importation into the country.

This document ensures compliance with the Mexican Official Standard (NOM) for applicable commercial information, either from the origin of the product or before its customs clearance, for those who wish to import or sell in Mexico.

Our NOM scope

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE WITH OFFICIAL MEXICAN STANDARDS

At UVA, we are accredited by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA) and approved by the General Directorate of Standards (DGN).

We are authorized as an Inspection Unit to evaluate and verify that the labeling of national and imported products complies with the current Mexican Official Standards (NOM) regarding commercial information.

Textiles NOM-004-SE-2021

Commercial information-labeling of textile products, clothing, accessories and household linen.

Toys NOM-015-SCFI-2007

Commercial information - commercial labeling, applies to all types of toys, except for replica firearms.

NOM Leather, Skins and Footwear-020-SCFI-1997

Commercial information-labeling of natural tanned leather and skins and synthetic or artificial materials with this appearance, footwear, leather goods, as well as products made from such materials.

The Certificate of Conformity has no expiration date, which allows it to be used repeatedly whenever you need it. It will only cease to be valid if changes are made to the design of the product label or if there are modifications to the applicable NOM.

How we work

Procedure for issuing a Certificate of Compliance

We always seek to optimize your operation, which is why we offer an additional service, such as the Design Department, where changes required for compliance with your label can be made.

  • CONTRACT

    To offer any of our services, a contract must be signed, which is valid indefinitely (It is only signed once).

  • QUOTATION AND PAYMENT

    Based on the information received, a quote is made. Upon accepting the quote, payment for the service is requested to begin.

  • SENDING INFORMATION

    Information on the applicable standard, The client shares clear and visible images of the products, packaging and labels. *If applicable, image of manuals, warranties and instructions.

  • TECHNICAL EVALUATION

    The information is evaluated by a technical inspector and if any deviation is detected, a report is prepared, which is delivered to the client to make the corresponding corrections. This can be done up to 3 times (already included in the cost).

  • PASSING EVALUATION

    Upon receiving the corrected information from the client, the technical inspector proceeds to prepare the certificate. If the client does not make the corrections for the third time, a denial of certificate will be issued and the client will again have to enter their information from point 2 of this diagram.

  • SUPERVISION

    To ensure the quality of all our processes, we carry out a supervision prior to issuing the document, where we validate the impartiality of our inspectors and their performance, as well as any complaints that may have arisen.
